Its Hoodie Season: Lets make a Hoodie for your Gearshift
Have you seen these cool gearshift hoodie and decided you had to have one?! Well keep reading and learn how to make your own
Tools you’ll need are listed below.
Sweatshirt/knit fabric : 18X18” Wide
Sewing machine/ needle thread
Shoestring
This Pattern: Gear Shift Hoodie Here
The first thing you’re going to do it cut your fabric. Cut 1 front and back piece on the fold. Cut 2 sleeves on the fold. Cut 1 hood piece, the kango pocket, and bottom band on the fold.
GearShift Hoodie:
Step 1: sew the shoulders
Step 2 : attach top of Kango pocket (THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN THE VIDEO)
Step 3: Attach sleeves
Step 4: Sew side seam/ sleeve closed
Step 4 : Flip garment inside out
Step 5 : place sleeves under pocket edge. Find a good place and stitch down. Then stitch bottom edge of pocket down
Step 6: Grab the bottom band. Sew short ends together. Then fold in half longways with wrong sides together. Add pins as needed to keep together
Step 7: With seam at the center back. Attach the band to bottom of hoodie. Sew around and push seam up
Step 8: Sew a tunnel on the straight side of the hood. Make a small hole 3/4” above the opening on each side. Pull the string in one side and out the other.
Step 9: Pin edge of hood slightly pass center front Neck. Pin the bottom of hood all the way around slightly overlap hood at front neck. Then stitch around.
